Hi, I read about you at localharvest.com. My name is James Matzorkis and this year, I will be completing my second farming apprenticeship in 2 years at Rolling Fork Farm in Kentucky. I hope to start my own mixed vegetable production operation in 2012, but I need a place to do it and I'm really too short on money to buy my own place right away. Steve, my mentor last year, mentioned that livestock farmers often plant acres upon acres upon acres to surplus livestock feed, and that a farmer in that kind of situation is in a good position to accomodate a small (1-4 acre) vegetable operation on his/her property.

While I do not know the details of your particular situation, I am very interested in pursuing a relationship that could benefit us both, if that is possible. For my part I would be willing to pay monthly for use of the land until I grow big enough to buy my own plot. Please contact me if you are interested in pursuing this further, or even if you know of anyone who might be. I can also send along a resume and a business plan in case you'd like to review them. I have been planning this for some time. Thanks for reading and have a good day.

Sincerely,

James Matzorkis.
